Episode 1

Layla Lowe has spent years being whispered about as the Zinn family's "kept songbird"—the girl Jin Yanting raised. Episode 9

Jin Shiyue won't let her walk away. If she's so loyal to Jin Yanting, he asks, does she know he only sees her as a tool for trading favors? Layla insists her feelings are her own business—she won't repay kindness with betrayal or wreck the brothers' bond. His answer is blunt: then take responsibility for him. He claims it was his first time, that he's traditional, that he doesn't want a fling or a mistress. Only marriage. The scene breaks when Jin Yanting walks in. Layla covers, and he offers to drive her to school.

Episode 10

The bracelet is still missing, and Layla needs it back from Jin Shiyue—but a warning comes first: stay away from him, he's trouble. At home, Jin Yanting notices her distraction, assumes it's a classmate messaging about her thesis, and tightens his grip: he didn't keep her close and pour effort into her so she could fall in love. Later, someone spots Layla with a young man and asks if he's her new boyfriend. Her answer lands like a bombshell: not a boyfriend—her fiancé.
