Episode 1

Emery's world collapses in a single night. Accused of carrying a serpent shifter's child, she insists she was drugged and kidnapped—and that her fiancé knew the truth. Then Vernon admits it himself: he sold her once to a serpent a year ago, and he arranged all of it. When her baby is born, he calls it a "mess" and takes the child from her arms as she pleads for it back.

Later, bound and delivered among new slaves, Emery is dragged before a slaver. In a place where, she's told, there is no God—only beasts and monsters—she has no one left to call on.

Episode 2

Alaric, the Dragon King, storms in to punish those who laid hands on someone in his territory. The slaver and her captors scramble to shift the blame, calling Emery a criminal and worse. Emery speaks up for herself: she was sold against her will.

Something stops Alaric cold—her golden eyes, just like his daughter's. Though he calls humans disgusting, he refuses to force himself on her and instead gives her a choice: serve in his castle as a maid. Stay out of sight, he warns, or showing her face will get her killed.

Episode 3

Inside the castle, Emery learns the stakes. Juno, Alaric's daughter, cannot speak, shift, or fly—her mother's painful labor left her that way. Healers believe only a bond with a woman who loves her like a mother can save her, and Alaric has one month before the chance is gone forever.

Shifter candidates parade their power, but Juno rejects them all. When the dragon spirit drifts toward Emery instead, the room turns on her. Emery, thinking of the baby she lost, quietly wonders what the child is searching for.

Episode 4

The candidates are furious—why would the dragon spirit choose a mere human maid? They accuse Emery of luring it, but she denies it. Juno has made her choice: Emery will be her nanny. Alaric shuts down the protests and clears the room, declaring the decision final.

Alone with Emery, he demands the truth about who she really is. A human forming a bond with a dragon shouldn't be possible—unless something deeper connects them.

Episode 5

Alaric presses Emery with blunt, invasive questions, warning that her voice and body will betray any lie. He asks whether she's ever slept with a serpent shifter, and she insists she doesn't know—she was drugged. When he pushes further, she snaps that it's private and asks what any of it has to do with him. Then he admits it: he, too, was sold to a serpent shifter.

The confession lands strangely between them, and he wonders aloud why he suddenly wants to tear that serpent apart.

Episode 6

Alaric makes his position clear: he's a monster, but not the kind her people are. For Juno's sake, Emery must learn to care for at least one shifter—or he'll send her back where she came from. She has nowhere to return to; her village cast her out the moment they learned what had touched her.

She promises to protect Juno. But a promise, he says, isn't enough. He moves closer, and what he wants is something far more binding.

Episode 7

Emery fights back—brave, but reckless. Alaric points out that dragons have scales nearly everywhere, and her one strike wasn't enough; next time she should aim for the weak spot.

Then he reveals what he's done: a binding mark of dragon's blood. If she ever tries to harm Juno, it will stop her. Emery's answer is quiet and steady—she could never hurt a child, unlike shifters. The mark is set, and there's no undoing it now.

Episode 8

At Juno's first birthday celebration, the court sneers at Emery—a keeper with no power and no wings, unfit to teach a dragon princess to shift. Alaric silences them all, announcing that Juno chose Emery and that from this day she stands as Juno's protector. Anyone who wishes to challenge that can challenge him.

The respect he demands doesn't sit well with everyone. An urgent summons pulls Alaric away, and Emery is left to guard Juno—and to watch her own back.

Episode 9

Emery follows Juno when the child slips away, and they end up somewhere dangerous—a place where acid eats through scales, bones, and everything else. Before they can retreat, a jealous woman blocks their path, furious that a "pathetic human" took the place she believes should have been hers.

She threatens to remove Emery and take her revenge. When Alaric's approach is mentioned, she only grows bolder. Emery begs her not to hurt the child.

Episode 10

The maze swallows Juno. Emery follows and finds her, but the girl's heartbeat is fading—she's in critical condition. Alaric arrives, and Emery blames herself for everything that happened.

Then the jealous woman strikes openly, declaring she'll do Alaric a favor by eliminating the "danger" to his bloodline. With Juno's life hanging by a thread and a traitor standing over them, the rescue may already be too late.

Some betrayals cut deeper than blood—and some bonds are worth fighting for.
