Hearts Out of Sync

Episode 1

Yara Ward has spent years as Mark Smith's wife, ignored and dismissed — and in her first life, that neglect followed her all the way to the end. Then she wakes up a year in the past, reborn with her memories intact. This time she refuses to stay weak. She asks to accompany Mark to a business dinner; he tells her his affairs are none of her concern and orders her to sign the divorce agreement, offering her half his assets. But Yara has already decided: she won't be bullied again. She tells him plainly that she wants the divorce — and she means it.

Episode 2

Mark still won't sign. Then word comes that Yara has already signed the papers herself — with a catch in the asset split that leaves him suspicious. He accuses her of scheming, calling her a woman who married him only through his grandmother's pressure. But Yara is done arguing. She packs to move out, thanking the household for a year of care, and gives one last instruction: the flowers she planted in the courtyard should be dug up and taken away. If he doesn't like them, there's no reason to leave them there, cluttering his sight.

Episode 3

The servants arrive to haul the courtyard flowers away, and Mark's household is thrown into confusion. When he asks where Yara is, the answer is simple: she's already gone. He orders the flowers put back exactly as they were. Meanwhile, Yara's stepsister brings him tea and hovers with studied sweetness — the kind of calculated, push-and-pull game Yara once would have fallen for. But Yara isn't there to play it anymore. The question now is who is circling Mark, and what she wants from him.

Episode 4

Yara goes to Mark's company and asks the Secretary to bring him out — she has something to say. The Secretary sneers that Yara's home-cooked lunches were always thrown away by Mark, and that his meals are already ordered, so she should take her food and go. When Yara pushes, the Secretary hints she might be angling to be Mark's mistress — a jab that backfires. Yara fires back coldly, making clear she won't tolerate being talked down to. The Secretary protests that she's only doing her job. Mark finally appears, irritated: what is Yara making a scene about now?

Episode 5

Mark accuses Yara of causing trouble again, and she throws his own cruelty back at him — how easily he humiliates people. The Secretary insists Yara has misunderstood her relationship with Mark, but Yara isn't interested in explanations. Mark assumes she's come for money or to beg, claiming she only ever brought him lunch to win benefits for her father's company. He's convinced her agreement to divorce with nothing is some kind of scheme. Yara tells him she wants nothing from him, says she's already signed and waited an hour at the registry office, and warns him not to waste her time — they can still make it before it closes.

Episode 6

Mark insists he won't shortchange her in the divorce, but Yara refuses to be placated — she's already signed and waiting at the registry office. He blames her for why they aren't divorced yet, then accuses her of putting on a generous act while secretly wanting everything. She tells him flatly: she doesn't even want him, so why would she want anything of his? It comes out that Yara never asked her father for benefits — in fact, the Secretary herself repeatedly threw away the meals Yara made. Mark says their families' marriage alliance means the divorce must go through proper channels, and he'll have his lawyer handle it. Then he tells her to leave today.

Episode 7

The Secretary finally oversteps, and Mark has her collect her pay and leave immediately — she begs to stay, but he won't hear it. When Yara calls, he takes it. She asks him to pass along a message: her time isn't his to waste, and she wants a firm time and place for the divorce. Hearing she called him less than a man for dragging his feet, he's furious. He accuses her of being the one who pushed for divorce and now refusing to finalize it. Yara's answer cuts deeper: she asks her father whether he ever truly cared about her as a daughter.

Episode 8

At the family home, Yara's stepsister preens for her father's praise, then bristles when Yara returns without warning. Yara reminds her stepmother that her own mother is dead — and that the dress the stepsister is wearing belongs to Yara. She orders her things returned to her room: she's moving back in. The stepmother snaps that Yara is married and has no business coming home to stir up trouble. Yara stands her ground — this is her mother's house, and as the eldest daughter of the Ward family, she has every right to come home after a divorce.

Episode 9

The family pressures Yara: her stepsister's twentieth birthday banquet is coming, and the household needs the Smith family's support, so Yara must not make trouble. Yara points out the painful truth — her father never once asked whether she was happy or tired, and she, his own daughter, matters less than the stepdaughter his second wife brought into the house. Her father calls her bitter and ill-mannered, and her stepmother plays the wounded martyr. When Yara refuses to bow to Mark for the sake of their money and projects, her father threatens to teach her a lesson about rules.
