I Break Rules and Hearts

Episode 1

Zoe Walker's life splits open in a single hospital hallway. The doctor's news is plain: she's three months pregnant. For a woman who has spent three years as Shane Reed's secret lover — a trade she made to save her sick father — the timing couldn't be worse.

Then Shane confirms the rumor she's been dreading. He's marrying Yara Aston, and Zoe is "just a lover." He tells her to move out and leave no trace behind. At the hospital, a wealthy young woman arrives with a seafood allergy and a fiancé who threatens to pull all funding if anything goes wrong. Zoe is pulled into the case — and the two women's worlds are about to collide.

Episode 2

The allergic patient is Yara Aston herself, and she waves off the panic with a smile. She asks for a female doctor to examine her, and the hospital offers Zoe — its youngest surgeon. Yara also asks a private question: what kind of woman gets pregnant easily? She admits she has a condition that makes it hard, but her fiancé insists on a child.

Then Yara spots a pregnancy report in the room. Zoe covers, calling it a friend's leftover. But the encounter leaves her shaken — if Shane truly has a child with another woman, where does her own unborn baby stand? Before the tension can settle, Shane corners her in the hospital, demanding answers.

Episode 3

The pregnancy report is exposed as not Yara's — and Shane turns on Zoe for panicking. When she dares to ask what he'd do if she were really pregnant, his answer is cold: his family doesn't allow illegitimate children. Zoe promises she'd get rid of it, no matter what.

Away from prying eyes, Shane and Yara drop the act — their engagement is mutual convenience, a trade of family freedom for his inheritance. But a young woman close to Yara has already heard a rumor: Shane's ex-girlfriend is a doctor named Zoe, and she may be carrying his child. She decides this is worth telling Shane. The engagement banquet is one week away.

Episode 4

Shane's assistant reports that Zoe has moved out and refused his compensation. She pushes the obvious question: if he cares for Zoe, why not explain that the Aston marriage is only a temporary move? Shane insists it's too dangerous until the inheritance is secured — he'll tell Zoe everything then.

Meanwhile, Zoe's father is doing better thanks to the "special medicine" her boyfriend supposedly provides. He's never met the man, only seen photos, and wants to celebrate his birthday with him. Zoe begs Shane to play the part one last time — then she'll disappear. He agrees. At the dinner, her father welcomes Shane warmly — until a voice at the door changes everything.

Episode 5

Yara Aston walks in on the family dinner, and the room detonates. Zoe's father is baffled: who is this woman, and what is she to his daughter's boyfriend? A young woman with Yara lunges and slaps Zoe, calling her a seductress. Shane shocks everyone by slapping her back — and Yara's composure cracks.

Zoe tries to defuse it, claiming Shane is nothing to her and the dinner was only an act. Yara plays the gracious fiancée, but her smile is thin. As the guests leave, Zoe's father presses the real question: what exactly was the "special medicine" from three years ago? The lie at the heart of everything is starting to show.

Episode 6

The truth comes out ugly. Yara's side taunts Zoe's father: three years ago his daughter sold herself to Shane to pay for his medicine — where else would the drug have come from? Zoe's father is shattered, and Zoe can't deny it. Shane, meanwhile, turns on Yara for overstepping, reminding her she's only his fiancée on paper.

His punishment is swift: he strips Zoe of her position and cuts her off from his family's money entirely. Yara's camp celebrates — they've been tracking Zoe all along. But Yara isn't satisfied. She wants Zoe to give up on Shane completely, and she has plans for the child Zoe is carrying.

Episode 7

Zoe's father blames himself for everything, then asks the question she can't dodge: does she love Shane Reed? Before she can answer, he notices she's pregnant and insists she end it — the man is marrying someone else. Zoe asks for one chance to face reality on her own terms. Her father leaves to buy her something to support the pregnancy.

Shane appears at her door to apologize for Yara's ambush and for dragging Zoe into it. He asks after her father, then turns to go. Zoe stops him with the question she's held for three years: did he ever feel anything for her? She takes it back immediately — then tells him they should never meet again.

Episode 8

Zoe wakes in a strange place. She and her father have been kidnapped — her father is locked in another warehouse. The man behind it is Jin Yushu, a rival heir after Shane's inheritance, who mocks Zoe for not recognizing him.

Jin drags Shane into a twisted game: two women, one choice. He can save only one — his fiancée Yara or Zoe — and the other gets handed to his men. Shane tries to negotiate with the East Suburb project, but Jin isn't interested in business. He wants Shane to suffer. The countdown begins, and Shane has seconds to decide.

Episode 9

Shane's people warn him: rescuing Zoe first would expose her as the person he truly cares about, making her a target far beyond this kidnapping. So Shane walks out with Yara, leaving Zoe behind. Jin gloats that Shane loves his fiancée more — and Shane coldly agrees, calling Zoe a three-year fling he's long since tired of.

But Zoe overhears the truth: this whole nightmare was Yara's plan. When Zoe tries to expose her, Yara twists it into a lie. Shane turns on Zoe with cruel words, denying he ever cared. Then Zoe doubles over — dizzy, terrified, begging to leave. As she's dragged away, someone new steps in.

Episode 10

Blood. Zoe is pregnant, and her captors realize it too late — the south warehouse is on fire. As flames spread, Zoe's father calls for her, desperate to get her out. Shane's people scramble to evacuate, but Shane turns back toward the blaze.

His men hold him off: it's already too late. The episode ends on that unbearable choice — the fire roaring, Zoe still inside, and Shane fighting to go back for her. Who gets out alive, and who is left behind? The revenge story has only just lit its fuse.

If you love a comeback story soaked in betrayal and slow-burn regret, this one's worth a binge — start it tonight and see who survives the fire.
