Kneel Before The Dragon Queen

Episode 1

A dragon queen who vanished seven years ago is done hiding. Veya slips back into the realm disguised as a humble healer, and her first act is to reclaim what was taken from her. Whispers of "Hail the dragon queen" follow her return, hinting that her loyal followers never forgot. She is not rushing to reveal herself yet. Instead, she watches, tests, and quietly decides who still deserves her trust after seven long years away.

Episode 2

Veya's return comes with a plan. She orders three betrothal gifts prepared—a Star Steel crown, a dragon Crystal sceptre, and a fire dragon egg—destined for Leon Silverville, whose investiture as royal chancellor is one week away. But she is not ready to reveal herself as queen just yet. Meanwhile, Duke Kael Frostwing is being squeezed by House Golden Rose: marry Lady Cecilia next month or lose dragon Crystal supplies and reinforcements for the Aurora rampart. Desperate, Kael proposes a marriage of convenience to the mysterious beastkeeper who just calmed his fiercest animals. "Will you marry me?"

Episode 3

Kael sweetens the deal: 300 gold crowns a month for three years, then 10,000 gold crowns and a castle. Veya agrees, though she mentions she already has a fiancé. The northern front is collapsing: three months into the freeze, food and dragon Crystal are nearly gone, and the troops are at half strength. Kael insists on leading the attack himself. Then word arrives that the frost revenant army is already assembled and will reach the rampart within the hour. Veya hands over a strange bag and a gambit: light it at the highest beacon tower, and they will live to see the queen.

Episode 4

The soldiers scoff. Fire dragons went extinct long ago—how could a country beastkeeper have anything useful? Veya stays calm: burn it, wait one hour, and if she is wrong they lose only a bag of dung. Kael warns her what happens if nothing occurs. Elsewhere, Leon's world is glittering: a big day, a red carpet, and no riffraff allowed. When Veya arrives and asks for Lord Leon, Lady Ethyn blocks her coldly, sneering about the "little healer from Grayville" who once emptied her son's bedpans. Silverville, she says, has no place for someone like her.

Episode 5

Lady Ethyn offers Veya a hundred gold crowns to disappear—more than her life is worth, she claims. Veya fires back with the truth: seven years ago Leon was a bastard abandoned to die in the Grayville plague zones, his arm covered in ashale plague marks. She fought to pull him back from death and spent every coin she had to protect him and his mother. Lady Ethyn calls it slander. Then comes the real sting: Veya claims Leon's investiture is happening because she made it happen—she gave him his life and paved his road here.

Episode 6

The horde is bigger than expected—but Veya was right. When the signal is lit, the frost revenants are wiped out, and the northern reach survives. Kael realizes the woman he married is no ordinary beastkeeper. "Who are you really?" he asks, before vowing to find her and declaring she is the woman he is going to marry. At the ceremony, Leon dismisses Veya as a madwoman making a scene on his big day, calling Grayville a mistake and telling her to take the money and leave before the seven realms ever hear of her.

Episode 7

Veya asks Leon one last time whether he ever truly loved her—after all, he put the ring on her finger himself. Leon sneers that everything she gave him was a drop in the bucket; he rose because someone powerful backed him. That someone, he boasts, is Regent Martha Ironbeer. Veya knows the truth: Martha was only following her orders all along. Leon and Lady Ethyn scheme about winning Martha over for even greater power. Kael tells Veya the man inside does not deserve her—and proposes.

Episode 8

Kael insists it is not pity: he needs a duchess, and she needs a title. Veya accepts and makes him a promise—for every day he is her husband, she will protect him. Then she proves it fast, instructing him to ask the queen for direct control of two dragon Crystal trade routes and one billion dragon crystals. Kael is stunned; only someone who knows the queen personally could dare request that. The two bind themselves in a frostwing marriage bond, body and soul. As the mark forms, Kael wonders aloud who she really is.

Episode 9

At Leon's investiture, Lady Ethyn and House Lyonhart preen over Duke Kael Frostwing's attendance, certain it will elevate Silverville's standing. Veya walks in through the front door, and Leon and his mother immediately assume she sneaked in like a stray, reminding her they paid her to vanish. Veya coolly notes that Kael is coming for her, not for Leon. Meanwhile, Kael's spies report that anyone investigating Veya has cut ties in fear—even the dragonmere trading house will not touch it. Kael doubles her guard, vowing to protect his duchess whatever her past.

Episode 10

The banquet hall turns on Veya. Lady Ethyn demands the guards throw out the "lowborn nobody," and the hall recites its three rules: no Dragon Court invitation, no entry; no family emblem, no seat near the high table; no bonded beast or noble to vouch for you, and you are an intruder. Veya asks what happens if she meets all three—then drops the line that silences the room: "Duke Kael Frostwing brought me here." Is the greatest warrior in the seven realms noble enough to vouch for her?
