Episode 1

A little boy named Benny proudly shows his mother a drawing of the family dog, Button—then the world lurches seventy years forward. Evelyn Roff wakes in the body of an eighteen-year-old with her own name and face, learning she is the country-raised daughter of her father and his ex-wife, brought to the city only two months ago.

At a banquet, her half-sister Ruby Roth moves to humiliate her, mocking how she holds a wine glass. Evelyn coolly recites the ideal serving temperature for red wine, then splashes her. When Ruby seethes that it was deliberate, Evelyn answers with a second, unmistakable splash: "This is me doing it on purpose."

Episode 2

The banquet turns hostile as guests whisper about the "rude, uncultured peasant" who dared spill wine at the Jarrett family's gathering for the senior Benny Jarrett. Evelyn's father demands to know why she is bullying her sister in front of everyone—and she fires back, asking whether spoiling his mistress's daughter is his idea of parenting.

The password is classified, guarded by the family—yet Evelyn knows its exact length. She explains that she designed those twenty-six digits herself, using physics and astronomy, and that she can calculate the precise code by date. That earns her a guarded escort to see the elderly Benny.

But the visit comes with a warning: since he was eight, after his mother died saving him in a crash, Benny cannot bear mention of that accident. Seeing him, Evelyn's bravado cracks. She speaks to him gently, and a childhood nickname—one only family would know—hints at exactly who she is.

Episode 5

Zach isn't convinced. He has Miss Roth's background checked and learns she was raised in the countryside by her mother for eighteen years, with no ties to the Jarretts at all. "Look into it more," he orders. "There must be something you missed." Meanwhile, the household gossips: who is this woman allowed to sit alone with the old man?

Inside, the reunion turns tender. Evelyn reminds Benny of the childhood fight he lost, and how she teased him about wanting siblings to back him up. Her voice softens: "It must have been hard growing up alone." The question now is whether the family will believe the impossible.

Zach's suspicions sharpen—why leave a stranger alone with the patriarch? But Evelyn has already shifted into matriarch mode. When Benny's fiery granddaughter storms in, dressed and tattooed in ways she finds disgraceful, Evelyn doesn't flinch.

"You're also a Jarrett. The Jarretts value kindness and humility," she informs her, then issues orders: change into something decent, dye that hair black and cut it short tomorrow, and schedule the tattoo for removal. The girl is furious—"Who the hell are you? Even my brother can't control me"—but for the first time, someone can. The family lesson has begun.
