Three Strikes to My Heart

Episode 1

Eve Wilde has spent a year as Hugh Grimm's assistant, quietly in love with a man who still carries a torch for someone else. One drunken night changes everything: she becomes pregnant, and they slip into a secret marriage. Eve tells herself it might be the start of something real—until their son, Leo, is born and reality sets in.

Years later, the pattern hasn't broken. Hugh comes home with a model plane, and Leo lights up, sure it means his father is finally warming to him. Eve knows better. The gift isn't really for Leo; it's tied to the return of Hugh's first crush, Yvonne. When Leo runs to greet him, Hugh's response is cold and cutting—he refuses to even be called father.

Episode 2

The cruelty escalates. Eve confronts Hugh about how he treats Leo, but he throws the past back at her, insisting she trapped him into marriage. When Leo touches the model plane, Hugh snaps that the boy shouldn't touch what isn't his. Eve realizes the plane was never a gift for Leo at all—it was meant for Yvonne's son.

That's the breaking point. Eve kneels down and asks Leo if he'd leave with her. He hesitates, still hoping his father might love him. Then the words land: Eve and Leo will give Hugh three chances. If he fails all three, this family will never have a place for him again. Meanwhile, word spreads that Yvonne is joining the company.

Episode 3

Yvonne arrives at the office, and the whispers start immediately. Everyone notices how close she seems to Hugh—and how beautiful she is. It doesn't take long for people to connect the dots: she's the first crush Hugh never got over, the woman whose name he once called out while drunk.

Then the announcement lands. Yvonne officially joins the company and becomes Hugh's personal assistant—the very role Eve has held for years. Colleagues are outraged on Eve's behalf, pointing out that Eve earned her position through hard work and countless high-value deals, while Yvonne simply walked in from above. When someone offers to show Yvonne around, Hugh waves Eve off, and Yvonne smoothly suggests Eve do it instead.

Episode 4

Eve keeps her composure and agrees to show Yvonne the office, walking her through the last stop: the meeting room. But Yvonne drops the mask fast. She tells Eve that no matter how diligently she works, she'll never matter to Hugh the way Yvonne does—one phone call and he'd fly abroad for her.

Eve doesn't flinch. She fires back that Yvonne is only a distraction, and wishes the two of them a long, happy life together. Yvonne twists the knife further, taunting Eve about her son and hinting that Hugh treats Yvonne's child as his own. Eve stays steady, refusing to show fear—but the threat is clear.

Episode 5

A confrontation turns physical when a slap lands, and Hugh's first instinct is to defend the wrong person. Yvonne plays the victim, insisting she's fine and begging everyone not to fight over her—while quietly pushing Hugh to punish Eve.

Eve doesn't wait around for the performance to end. She turns to leave, and Hugh threatens to demote her to an ordinary assistant if she walks out. She goes anyway. Behind her, people wonder what's gotten into her—she's never acted like this before. Yvonne, meanwhile, leans on Hugh, asking him to come to her home that night and keep her company. The countdown on Eve's three chances keeps ticking.

Episode 6

Leo has a parent-teacher meeting, and he begs his mother to let his father come—just once. In seven years of marriage, Hugh has never attended one. Leo tells Eve the other kids say he has no father, and he wants his dad to show up so badly it hurts.

Eve sends Hugh a message asking if he's free. Leo waits, anxious, then reassures himself that his father is just busy. When a reply comes saying Hugh will be there, Leo is overjoyed—he's been made class monitor and can't wait to tell his father. Eve, though, quietly hopes Hugh won't break this promise. Then Leo spots him: his father actually came.

Episode 7

Leo races toward his father—only to be told he's in the wrong seat. Hugh isn't there for him. He's there for Yvonne's son, whose parent-teacher meeting is the real reason he showed up. Eve's heart sinks as the truth lands: Hugh's "yes" was never for Leo.

Yvonne appears and offers an apology for her son. She asks Eve about Leo's father, and Eve deflects, saying he's abroad and busy. Leo, for the first time, quietly pulls his mother away instead of chasing after Hugh. Eve counts it out—the company position, the parent-teacher meeting. That's two chances gone. One remains. The teacher then announces Leo as class monitor.

Episode 8

The teacher suggests Leo step aside and let Yvonne's son, a transfer student, take the class monitor role instead. Leo agrees without a fight, and Eve watches her son learn to swallow disappointment far too young. Every gift, she thinks, comes with a price.

Hugh calls—Yvonne's son isn't feeling well, and he wants to go to them. Eve doesn't stop him. This time, Hugh never asks Leo to call him father again, but it no longer matters: it's the last time Leo will ever call him dad. Eve tells Hugh the living room won't have a light waiting up for him anymore. Then she and Leo head for the airport—ready to board, leaving him behind for good.
